Mater Dei Home Association

The Home Association is the strongest supporting arm of the Council. From the very beginning, its existence has proven to be very useful, if not indispensable, for the continued success and sustenance of the Council in several ways: by providing physical facility for the Council meetings, socials, and various fund-raising events; by making possible the Councilís Outreach Programs, by supporting numerous activities of two other entities of our organization, namely Mater Dei Ladies Auxiliary and Mater Dei Fourth Degree Club; by hosting degree exemplifications; by accommodating requests for space from other K of  C organizations, and the like. But, probably, most importantly, the well-recognized and highly desirable utilization of the available space continues to come from the rentals of the Homeís banquet facility. Income from the rentals is very much essential,  if not crucial, in continuously maintaining the upkeep of the building and its appurtenance, while making necessary improvements along the way. It is very gratifying for us to acknowledge, at this point, the creative and forward-looking vision, as well as the dedication and hard work of our founding members who secured a place for us since the early years of our existence. Not too many K of C Councils in the area can boast of having such a magnificent place of their own, as we do and enjoy.

While we are very proud of the Home, we are also cognizant of the fact that we need to continue to work hard and steadfast to increase our rental income for obvious reasons. Each and every member of the Council is automatically a member of the Home Association paying no additional fees; however, we expect that our members will understand and appreciate the need and value of their continued support for the usefulness and longevity of our Home.  In addition, it is expected that they will participate in the Homeís affairs, such as meetings, fund-raising events, donating their specific skills and experience in maintaining the structural integrity and functional aspects of the facility, and the like.

The Home Association meets once a month, on the fourth Monday, at 7:30 PM. It is governed by the duly elected officials, who conduct their business in accordance with the Associationís By-Laws. The officers for the year 2010-2011 are as follows:
